Ruoxuan (Rebecca) Wu

Welcome! I am a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Chicago. 

I work at the intersection of development and labor economics, with a focus on digital employment. My research combines field experiments grounded in economic theory with administrative and survey data to study labor market frictions and guide policy interventions. 

I am on the 2025-2026 job market. 

My job market paper studies how workers from low- and middle-income countries overcome reputation barriers to enter online labor markets. 

My papers are under my Chinese name, Ruoxuan (pronounciation); I go by Rebecca.
